摘要
This study identified significant predictors of important academic results such as academic performance and school desertion by adolescent students living in poverty in both urban and rural settings. The results indicate the relative importance of individual, family, educational and social variables reported by the young people, and the contribution from social psychological variables reported by their parents, as specific predictors for each of the results studied. The data were taken from a probabilistic sample of households from around the country that are beneficiaries of the Oportunidades program, and therefore the results may be extended to other young people living in similar conditions.
