Neural networks and fuzzy systems have found their use in control applications such as intelligent control design, identification, pattern classification, etc. In this paper, three different kinds of hierarchical models are proposed for static and dynamic load modeling. These hierarchical models make use of neural networks and fuzzy logic. The theoretical aspects of these hierarchical models are studied. It is shown that it is naturally logical to apply the hierarchical models for load modeling. A few theorems on a hierarchical fuzzy-neuro model, a hierarchical neuro-fuzzy model, and a hierarchical fuzzy model are presented. It also shows how these models are used for load modeling, and how voltage stability can proceed with the proposed hierarchical load models.
