Automatic finite-element mesh generation using Auto-CAD

Design of electrical devices requires calculation of magnetic flux distribution within the object, This paper describes a method to determine flux distribution in a sample transformer using Auto-CAD. The mesh preparing boundary source and material data and extraction of Bur from the solution are almost all done automatically. The user is thus removed from the numerical analysis chores that, formerly, greatly reduced effectiveness. The method can also be applied to other heavily saturated electrical devices.
