Death undone: Candomble funeral rites (Brazil).

Based on an ethnographic approach, an analysis is made of the inversions and paradoxes used in the funeral ceremonies for initiates to Brazilian divinities of African origins. These ritual procedures are good not only for producing relations between the dead and the living, but also for reconsidering the validity of the categories of binary opposition that run through anthropology (e.g., nature/culture, tradition/modernity, myth/rite).
