摘要
The pH dependence of the redox chemistry of [Ru(dmphen)(2)(H2O)](2+) has been measured (dmphen = 2,9-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline). Comparison of the results with those for similar complexes illustrates the unique acidity of the co-ordinated waters and the large oxidizing strength of the ruthenium. The reaction of [Ru(dmphen)(2)(H2O)(2)](2+) with H2O2 has been studied as a function of pH and the results are used to provide a mechanism for the catalysis of alkane oxidation by this complex.
