High-frequency modeling of BNC-N adapters

摘要
We present a high-frequency modeling of BNC-N adapters. In the beginning we define a long-line transmission model which was applied to all N and BNC layers of the adapters. Afterwards we calculated the total reflection coefficient of N(m)-BNC(f) adapter // BNC(m)-N(f) adapter // load cascade. The geometry of adapters' layers has been then slightly varied around premeasured values until a good agreement between the simulated and measured reflection coefficient was obtained. This proved the validity of the model and geometry of the adapters which are both indispensable to calculate and apply appropriate corrections that are needed when using BNC-N adapters.
