摘要
Tumor-associated tissue eosinophilia (TATE) is thought to play a function in the biological behavior of the carcinoma. Eosinophils play a role in the immune system and are related with a good or worse prognosis in oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC), although their involvement is still unknown. In all the cases of TATE we observed muscle invasion by tumor cells, as well as muscle degeneration in the surrounding area as common occurrences. This paper discusses the role of tumor-related muscle invasion and degeneration as a possible cause for the TATE and proposes two hypotheses for the same.
