Discovered in South Zhejiang in 1980s, the Arc-bridge has gradually been focused and studied. In this paper, it found that the safeguarding of timber-framed arch bridge heritage in the past 5 decades could be classified into 3 stages, and heritage protection in all 3 stages was closely related to original meaning of "landscape", which proved that timber-framed arch bridge heritage had profound inside information. Therefore, preservation of timber-framed arch bridge as cultural landscape heritage focused on integrated conservation, but not protection of individual bridges. What's more, the stone and wooden arch-bridge systems have mutual promotion on each other. Shimen Bridge witnesses this. When we research the technology evolution of stone arch-bridge in the South Zhejiang, Shimen Bridge is the best piece of evidence whose protection and restoration should pay attention be to. The authors pointed out that, ultimate objectives of the preservation strategies of timber-framed arch bridges as cultural landscape heritage could be realized step by step from 3 layers.
