Doppler and cosmological interpretations of redshift

摘要：
1) It is pointed out that the confusion between the velocity upsilon in the classical and relativistic Doppler formulae and the recession velocity upsilon* in cosmology may be partly due to their being indistinguishable at the limit of small z. 2) A rigorous derivation of the formula for the redshift of a superluminal jet, 1 + z(jet) = (1 + z(source))(l + z(Doppler)), is given.
