Hegel-An Unfinished Thought

Amidst so many recent contemplations of the end of life as we know it-from climate change to biopolitics to the ongoing pandemic-I would like to pursue not final, but unfinished thought. I do so by turning to Hegel as one of the most relentless thinkers of finality, arguing that his language of teleology turns out to be a language not of finished, but of un-finished thought. Hegel's aesthetics reveals this language as it links dissolution to poetry in particular as both the last and the "speaking" art.
