摘要
Remote sensing devices are used to gather, record, measure and analyze information about the surface of the earth from a distance, usually with the aid of satellites or airborne sensors. Numerous satellites are observing the earth from their orbits, generating large amounts of remote sensing images, and the images are drastically expanding in resolution and size. The opening of the huge amounts of Earth Observation (EO) data by different agencies in the world poses challenges for the integrating, storing, accessing, and collaborative applications of those data. In this paper, we give the design and implementation of our earth observation data management system, which is devoted to efficient integrating and opening of the big open EO data on the Internet. Specifically, we demonstrate the using of GEO Discovery and Access Broker (DAB) so as to communicate with GEO Common Infrastructure (GCI) to harvest the large amounts of open earth observation data brokered by GEO from different agencies in the world, as well as to open the EO data of China to the world.
