An initial plan of action for compliance with the UK's Data Protection Act 1998

The UK Government begins the Data Protection Act 1998 after Easter of 1999. Although this legislation, with respect to that processing which was already underway immediately prior to 24th October 1998, provides for generous transitional relief until October 23, 2001, it would be a mistake to consider that all data protection matters can continue, as if nothing needs to be changed until this latter date. Organizations responsible for the processing of personal data is presented to take immediate action and prepare for the implementation of this law.
