The difference of enzymatic antioxidant serum content of catalase on placental blood of low born body weight babies and normal born weight babies

摘要
Objective: The objective of the research was to investigate the differences of the enzymatic antioxidant serum contents of the catalase on the placenta blood of the low born body weight babies and normal born weight babies. Methods: This was the cross-sectional study research. Samples were taken using the purposive sampling technique, namely the low born body weight babies and normal born weight babies each of which as many as 20 samples. The blood as much as 3 cc was taken to examine the enzymatic antioxidant content of the catalase serum using ELISA method. The research was conducted for 3 months. The data were analyzed using Mann-Whitney U test, Chi-Square test, Fisher's Exact test and Kruskal-Wallis test. Result: The research result indicates that there is the significant difference between the enzymatic antioxidant serum contents of the catalase on the low born body weight babies and normal born weight babies with p value of 0.035 < 0.05. The serum contents measurement of the catalase on the group of the low born body weight babies is 81.68 +/- SD 15.22 KU/L, whereas serum content measurement of the catalase on normal born weight babies is 92.02 +/- SD 14.51 KU/L. Conclusion: The analysis result can be concluded that the mean of the catalase serum content on the low born body weight babies is lower than on normal born weight babies. It be concluded that the mean of the catalase serum content on the birth body weight babies is lower than on normal body weight babies. (C) 2019 Elsevier Espana, S.L.U. AU rights reserved.
