Attenuation of the field scattered by a perfectly conducting sphere by a system of ring slots and spherical ring cavities

Diffraction of a plane monochromatic electromagnetic wave from a perfectly conducting sphere is considered. It is shown that, when the wave propagates along a certain direction and is specially polarized, the properties of a transparent body can be imparted to the sphere by supplying it with a suitable system of interior spherical ring cavities and ring slots on the sphere's surface. This structure provides for the necessary attenuation of the scattered field.
