摘要
The effect of the scattering particle size in a turbid medium on microscopic imaging is experimentally investigated in order to determine the resolution achievable when differential polarisation-gating (DPG) is employed. Image resolution for a bar embedded within a turbid medium is measured as a function of the optical thickness for four turbid media which consist of scattering particles of diameters 0.107, 0.202, 0.48 and 1.056 mu m, respectively. It is shown that the improvement in image resolution with DPG is stronger for a turbid medium including smaller particles than for a turbid medium consisting of larger particles. To demonstrate the effectiveness of DPG in a tissue-like turbid medium, images of a bar embedded within semi-skimmed mill; suspensions were obtained. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V.
