Numerical simulation of combustion process in the O2/CO2 mixtures of a 300MW boiler

摘要
This paper is based on a 300MW corner-fired utility boiler in Shandong. The ICEM is used for setting up the three-dimensional structure and generating mesh, the space is from the bottom of furnace hopper to the horizontal flue, and the number of meshes is 786689. The TASCFLOW is used for analyzing and selecting the flowing, combustion and heat transfer model, and modeling the coal combustion in O-2/CO2 environment. There are 4 conditions of different O-2/CO2 mole ratio modeled, which are based on the same amount of feed coal and oxygen, by adjusting the amount of CO2 (the volume concentration of oxygen is 21%, 25%, 29%, 35% respectively). The characteristics of pulverized coal ignited and burned in O-2/CO2 environment whilst the changes of wall heat-flux are studied, the numerical simulation results then compared with conventional air combustion.
