摘要：
Most of the poultry population of the North Eastern Region of India is indigenous variety and their production potentiality is very low. In order to increase the egg production as well to maintain highly productive layer strains of. chickens suitable for this region, the North - Eastern Council has established the Regional Poultry Breeding Farm at Kyrdemkulai, Meghalaya during the year 1973-74 with the B-line White Leghorn and Rhode Island Red breeds of chickens as its foundation stocks. The present study was undertaken to estimate some genetic parameters, for devising appropriate selection programme for obtaining response in some important economic traits in White Leghorn chickens.
