The treatment experience of an arterio-venous fistula (AVF) which occurred in the renal graft by the percutaneous biopsy is reported. The patient was a 37-year-old man. He had a living related kidney transplant from his father in September, 1988, The liver function deteriorated after kidney transplantation due to the active hepatitis C, and he received an interferon treatment in 1993. Because the function of the renal graft deteriorated gradually after that, the biopsy of the renal graft was done three times. Because strong bruit was audible from the renal graft after the biopsies, the patient was hospitalized in March, 1997, and took a close examination. The angiography revealed that an AVF and aneurysm existed in the renal graft. Then, the selective transarterial embolization (TAE) of the renal arterial branch which the AVF existed in was done repeatedly by using the coil and geratin-sponge. After the TAE, the AVF almost disappeared, and bruit of the renal graft stopped as well.
