A Systematic Literature Review on Healthcare Dashboards Development: Trends, Issues, Methods, and Frameworks

Dashboard is a visualization device that is used to support performance monitoring of an organization. Dashboard currently developed in various sectors, including healthcare sector. There are numbers of healthcare dashboard development, but there was no systematic and comprehensive review of different contextual aspects of the development. This study aims to identify trends, issues, methods, and frameworks in the development of healthcare dashboards through Systematic Literature Review (SLR). A literature search was conducted in four digital libraries and 19 literatures were selected to be reviewed after several stages of selection. The review successfully identified healthcare dashboards development trends, including targeted healthcare unit, development goals, and dashboard types. The review also explained about issues in healthcare dashboards development, and outlines the methods and frameworks used in the development. The results of this study provide a view about current trends and theoretical base for healthcare dashboard development. According to the research, further research about methods and frameworks comparison is needed.
