SOCIAL POLICY AND ENVIRONMENT: AN ANALYSIS OF THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SOCIAL ISSUES AND ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT

This article presents an analysis of social policy and the environmental crisis, as the result of an unequal mode of production in the social sphere, and unsustainable from the point of view of the environment. It is understood that this is a debate of fundamental importance for the training and professional performance of the social worker,insofar as the problems caused by the devastation of the environment are the result of social impacts and environmental issues. Such conditions are reflected in the Social Service intervention objective. The great increase in deforestation is a reflection of a corporate project that represents the capitalist ambition and that brings several socio-environmental consequences and losses to society. These impacts affect both urban and rural areas. The analysis that was presented was built from the review of specific literature in the environmental area and related to Social Work, as well as the concerns, questions and empirical observation of professionals in their areas of activity with the rural population, which is constituted in the methodology to carry out this work.
