The purpose of this article is to discuss how and why the lifelong leraning discourse has changed during the past decades and present ideas on lifelong learning in organizations. Moreover, the article discusses the relation between lifelong learning and organizational learning, about individual and organizational learning, if and how, individuals and institutions affect organizational learning. We often assume, that when organizations learn, individuals learn, but how are individuals affected by organizational learning and by how others learn. And how does, on the other hand, individual learning become organizational learning. In this article the author introduces thoughts on what (lifelong) learning in future organizations, may consider and be about.
