Information-processing abnormalities in anxiety disorders: Implications for cognitive neuroscience

Experimental psychopathologists have increasingly relied on the concepts and methods of cognitive psychology to elucidate information-processing abnormalities associated with anxiety disorders. However, research has proceeded without reference to how these abnormalities are instantiated in the brain. The purpose of this article is to provide a survey of points of contact between the cognitive and neurobiological perspectives with regard to anxiety disorders.
