摘要
This paper describes a fault diagnosis method based on bus observation for computer system. Firstly, A knowledge presentation of the combination of the AND/ OR tree and production rule for computer fault diagnosis is discussed, and then a knowledge acquisition and diagnosis method based on the bus observation are proposed This method is base on the concept of "Run time", through the acquisition and analysis of data flow from a computer bus which produced by its monitor program, its running mode can be captured and set up, and if the computer system has fault, the reasoning can be done by the bus information which nearly has all fault information. This method mainly includes the establishment of the observation mode and the analysis of fault testability and relativity. The fault testability and relativity provides the validity criterion for the diagnosis method based on the bus observation. This method has been used in a PC fault diagnosis expert system.
