Damage detection of roller bearing using wavelet transform

摘要
The widely employed techniques are based on vibration analysis in damage detection of roller bearing. However, commonly used method of the processing vibration signals may exhibit low sensitivity to damage detection and poor diagnostic capability. One of the problems may arise for presence of non-stationary dynamic phenomena. The wavelet transform is effective mathematical tool adopted for processing transient signals. This paper presents a signal processing method for detecting bearing damages using wavelet transform. By using the multi-resolution property and the decomposition of signals. the characteristics of such structures are becoming more sensitive to the damage. Experimental results show that the wavelet analysis can improve the detecting accuracy and sensitivity especially in the earlier damage case.
