摘要
Superfinishing improves the surface finish of a workpiece while removing a relatively small amount of material. Among the processes of polishing, the superfinishing is one of the most commonly used methods, due to improve the reliability and quality of industrial products. Therefore, the case study is based on Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) applied to a superfinising process where the cutting tool wear is considered a potential failure mode, it were identified the potential effects and current control. For each of these are determined the risk priority number, a prioritization of risks and the corrective action.
