摘要
This article reviews and summarises the major research work carried out on the performance and evolution of slab tracks from their first applications until today. An assessment of the current systems is performed, as well as an appraisal of the major challenges in terms of design criteria, track behaviour, construction and maintenance techniques. As an effective tool for predicting the behaviour of slab tracks, a detailed literature review on track modelling is presented, assessing the main gaps in the current research. An underdeveloped topic in estimating slab track responses is the track fatigue analysis, as there are few representative models. Within the framework of the European requisites for 2030/2050 rail systems, future research should develop ecological, rapid-renewal and cost-efficient slab tracks for high-demand corridors, with enhanced performance, low track maintenance and deterioration and reduced risk vulnerability. The aim of this article is to provide an investigation basis for railway researchers and engineers to address the future requirements for slab track systems.
