Complex formation by strontium microamounts in concentrated carbonate solutions

摘要
The reaction of strontium microamounts with solutions of sodium carbonate in concentration range up to 1 M and pH 12 at the ionic strength of 0.0855 M NaCl was studied by ion-exchange technique. It was shown that in the studied range of carbonate concentration, the complexes SrHCO3+, SrCO30, and Sr(CO3)(2)(2-) are formed along with SrCl2. For KU-2(Na) cation exchanger, the only sorbed form of strontium is Sr2+ ion. The concentration stability constants for complexes of strontium with HCO3- and CO32- anions were determined.
