Future trends in processing technology

In order to better identify the future trends in processing technology for "Galvanizing of Steel Strip", it is useful to reflect briefly on the paths that have brought us to our current state of the galvanizing art. The drivers for change have been in three main areas, viz the production process, the product offering and also sustainability issues affecting both process and product. As we move into the 21st century, the validity of the change agents is discussed, together with the implications for future developments in process technologies, viz improvements to existing technologies, continuation of fundamental studies into the coating processes and finally alternative technologies.
