Textural and Electro-Optical Characteristics of Nanoparticles Doped Nematic Liquid Crystal Composite in IPS Mode

摘要
In present work, phase transition behaviour, temperature dependence of contrast ratio, absorbance characteristics and band gap energy of nematic liquid crystal (NLC) E7 doped with zinc oxide (ZnO) nanoparticles (NPs) in In-plane switching (IPS) mode are investigated. Decrease in nematic to isotropic phase transition temperature, increase in contrast ratio and band gap energy observed in doped sample. Additionally, absorbance peak shift to slightly higher value in doped sample and decrease in contrast ratio with increase in temperature observed for both E7 and E7-ZnO samples.
