摘要
A deep understanding of the behavior of travel mode choice can provide a theoretical basis for alleviating the negative impact on the environment due to the growth of car ownership. However, the existing reviews of travel mode choices are based on specific research angles and do not provide a comprehensive perspective from the entire field. This article collects 19 years (2000-2018) of publications about travel mode choice, drawn from six databases, which were subjected to bibliometric analysis and social network analysis. It can be seen from the research results that the number of publications increases gradually and the United States, China, and the United Kingdom make more contributions to academic cooperation. Through literature coupling analysis, 6 clusters were obtained, which were school trip/policy, elderly, geography, ecology/psychology/habit, travel satisfaction, and university student travel, respectively. The five essential elements, research subject, travel mode, factors, purposes, and methods, are revealed by content analysis. Finally, the keyword distribution shows the current research hotspots and provides future research directions. (C) 2019 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
