We evaluated the efficacy of fasudyl hydrochloride for treatment of vasospasm, i.e. delayed ischemia, after subarachnoid hemorrhage and discussed the relationship between the occurrence of symptomatic delayed ischemia and platelet activity. The efficacy of fasudil hydrochloride was satisfactory. Patients with symptomatic delayed ischemia showed relatively high plasma levels of beta-thromboglobulin.
