A Novel Application of Pseudorandom Based Technique for Acoustic Noise and Vibration Reduction of PMSM Drive

摘要
This paper presents a novel application of Pseudorandom triangular Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) technique for a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) drive to reduce acoustic noise and vibration. Among various available spread spectrum techniques, pseudorandom technique has recently applied for power electronics converters to reduce harmonics in voltage and currents, with promising results. The pseudorandom carrier signal produced through the random synthesis of two triangular carriers, each of the same frequency but opposite in phases. The random selection of the two triangular carriers is decided by "0" or "1" states of the pseudorandom binary sequence random bits. A suitable simulation and experimental investigation has been carried out. Performance result shows the significant reduction of torque ripple in the PMSM drive with proposed pseudorandom modulation technique.
