An energy analysis of the ground state in the triangular lattice three-state Potts model is conducted with allowance for the contribution of the nearest and next-nearest neighbors having interaction values J(1) and J(2). The ranges of existence of ordered and disordered phases in the spin structures described by this model, with the interaction values J(1) < 0, J(2) < 0 and J(1) > 0, J(2) < 0, are inferred from the numerical experiment.
