The geological traces of bottom currents in the south-eastern Baltic

The erosional-accumulative forms of bottom which form the geological traces of near-bottom currents (GTNBC) were found by seismo-acoustic methods in the southeast Baltic. Erosion processes are most substantial over shallow places and on the slopes tin the halocline and below), but intensive accumulation occurs on the slopes and their foundations (between the thermocline and halocline, in the halocline and below). The storms and inflow of the North-Sea waters play a dominant role in the creation of GTNBC. The storms leave the geological tracks at all depths, but the inflow leaves them only at the halocline level and below.
