China's Lake Dian, located in Yunnan province, has repeatedly experienced blue-green algal blooms, both a byproduct of pollution and a source of pollution itself. If this pollutant can be used in the production of biogas, such results would be very significant. This research introduced research on the Biochemical Methane Potential (BMP) of blue-green algae in laboratory tests, with a Total Solids (TS) gas production rate of 345 mL/g TS, and a Volatile Solids (VS) gas production rate of 366 mL/g VS.
