摘要：
This article analyses the implementation of the Children's Library, one of the initiatives of the Department of Culture of the City of Sao Paulo during the 1930's and 1940's. Based on documental sources that make it possible to verify the reception of these cultural actions by children and adolescents, we intend to discuss how cultural policies, designed for childhood, promote children's protagonism.
