The entrepreneurial behaviors of Haitian migrants in the French overseas territories in America

This article attempts to examine the entrepreneurial behaviors of Haitian migrants legally residing in the French Overseas Territories in America (TOMFA), through a random sample survey of a sample of 220 of between them. The main results obtained statistically and using a microeconometric model show that the majority of these migrants express their intention to start a business in TOMFA, more in the long term than in the short term. They reveal certain economic and socio-cultural behaviors which constitute mental blocks. Overall, they make it possible to understand how the sustainable socio-economic development of Haitian migrants in TOMFA must pass through the "social transactions" of the migrant with the host territory and the country of origin.
