摘要：

Hutchinson's equation which involves diffusion and a nonlinear delayed reaction term has been proposed as a model in population dynamics. For the case where initial conditions and periodic boundary conditions are supplied, we propose a numerical scheme by the use of central differences in space and the backward Euler method in time. We are interested in the stability of the fixed points and aim to investigate the impact of the delay on the long term behavior of the scheme.
