摘要：

A questionnaire survey was conducted on the cross-cultural communication of 105 Chinese students studying at University of California, San Diego, in America. The findings are: most students have a fairly strong sense of cross-cultural communication; most students do not have much involvement in cross-cultural communication; inadequate English proficiency and inadequate knowledge of the American culture are the two main barriers in the cross-cultural communication of Chinese students. Based on the survey, this paper puts forward some suggestions on increasing the cross-cultural communication competence of Chinese students.
