摘要
With launching Of Various uplift Programmes in the recent pasta there has been a significant increase in the number of women participating in developmental activities. These programmes envisaged her contribution in rural development works to ensure economic and social progress by upgrading their knowledge and skills. To justify these facts, a study was conducted in Mysore district to know the impact of income generating activities in terms of income and employment generation, as a result of participation of women in developmental programmes. A sample of 100 women were constituted, who have taken up five different activities such as tailoring, bamboo work agarbathi making, pottery and leaf plate making. It was found that a majority of the women (59%), who used to get an income of Rs. 50 to 100 before participation, started getting Rs. 300 to 450. There was a drastic increase in their monthly income. And also the employment generation under each trade increased proportionately. Therefore, participation in income generating activities under various schemes had a positive impact on the socio-economic condition of rural women.
