CPW-fed UWB hexagonal shaped antenna with additional fractal elements

摘要
This paper presents the design, fabrication, and measurement of a novel ultra-wideband (UWB) fractal monopole antenna. This antenna uses trapezoidal shapes with hexagonal slots to achieve highly Ultra-Wideband characteristics. The antenna is practically fabricated and tested. Measured results show a good agreement with simulated results and demonstrate that the proposed fractal antenna provides an ultra bandwidth of about 126% ranging from 3.1 to 13.67 GHz for the reflection coefficient less than -10 dB, outperforming the basic hexagonal design.
