摘要
Cypermethrin is frequently encountered in poisoning cases in India. In TLC, the compound can be detected by spraying the plate with 0.2% p-benzoquinone in dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO). Reaction of cypermethrin with alkali produces cyanide ions which react with p-benzoquinone reagent to form a blue spot. The sensitivity of the test after plate development is 0.25 mu g. Organochloro, organophosphorus, carbamate insecticides, and pyrethroid insecticides without a cyanide group do not interfere.
