Lithic expressions of Later Stone Age Lifeways in the Northern Cape (South Africa)

摘要：
Two distinct yet contemporaneous aggregates of material culture int he archaeological record of the Northern Cape dating to the last two millennia have been identified as representative of either hunter-gatherer or pastoral activities. Two small lithic assemblages found just 150 m apart on the farm Roode Zyn Puts were analysed and the results compared with existing descriptions of assemblages ascribed to the two socio-economies. The analysis supports the notion that there are two identifiable lithic industries in the area, which may be associated with two distinct lifeways.
