摘要：
The article intends to capture the cultural and symbolic significance of Edmondo De Amicis's trip to Trieste and Istria from 30 January to 7 February 1887. Thanks to some documents (in particular two of his letters, one to Giuseppe Caprin, the other to Attilio Hortis), the strongly patriotic value of that pilgrimage is confirmed, which turned into an extraordinary personal success for the author of Cuore, to whom poetic tributes were also dedicated.
