摘要
The paper surveys the results of recent research into the penetration of ultraviolet (UV) solar radiation into natural water basins with various hydro-optical properties, essentially determined by their content of dissolved organic matter, phytoplankton and also iron ions. Possible mechanisms for the optical adaptation of phytoplankton cells to variations in UV radiation due to the fall in the total ozone content of the Earth's atmosphere are discussed.
