Cloud Computing: Cloud Network Attached Storage, a Solution to Small Business

Cloud computing has brought new ways of interaction with data in the field of Information Technology. It enhances collaboration, scaling and availability, while it effectively reduces the cost and the maintenance. Cloud implementation has open new opportunities for the use of peripheral storage devices. Small companies with small budgets are moving to software based cloud, to address their needs of sharing and accessing data over the internet while having the confidence over the location of these data. As cloud computing becomes increasingly popular in the tech driven world, the topic of security has sparked huge interest and investment in order to make cloud computing safe to use. This paper addresses security measures put in place using File system-level encryption to secure data accessed on a cloud NAS, while examining the hardware, software and security challenges of a network attached storage as a server host.
