摘要
In the paper first an overview of the present prediction methods for multiaxial loading is given. An essential shortcoming of the methods is that damage events like close hysteresis loops under uniaxial conditions have to be defined. To overcome this limitation a new prediction method based on incremental plastic work has been proposed. This led to satisfactory predictions for cruciform Al 7475 specimens under biaxial loading as will be shown in the second part of the paper. In the third part requirements for a further development of the predictions methods in general and of the incremental plastic work based damage evaluation method are outlined.
