摘要:
Under the premise of ensuring certain quality of translation, computer aided translation is one of the effective ways to improve translation efficiency. In order to improve the efficiency of computer aided translation, it is necessary to analyze the quality of machine translation. Sentence length has always been considered as an important factor affecting the quality of translation, and the number of words is the most direct indicator of sentence length. 100 Guangxi scenic spots introductions are taken as the experiment object. The relationships between the number of Chinese words and the quality of English machine translation of the 430 paragraphs of the scenic spots introductions are analyzed. First, through manual scoring of machine translation, the 430 paragraphs are divided into 204 paragraphs of high translation quality and 226 paragraphs of poor translation quality. Then the variance and mean of the average number of Chinese words per clause and the average number of Chinese words per sentence of the two groups of texts are compared. The results show that there is no significant difference between the two groups of texts on these two parameters. This indicates that sentence length is not the key factor affecting the quality of machine translation.
