摘要
This study focuses on grain motion in tetragonal zirconia polycrystal ceramics during superplastic deformation. Since grains were found to move in a zigzag motion in previous experiments, the present study attempts to analyze the grain motion based on random walk theory. The analysis shows that the zigzag motion results from changes in constraint by surrounding grains. The constraint is spatially distributed at first, and its distribution gradually becomes uniform as superplastic deformation advances. (C) 2010 Acta Materialia Inc. Published by Elsevier Ltd.
