Electrical conductivity of Li2O : B2O3 : ZnO glasses

摘要
The study of electrical conductivity of 27.5 Li2O : (72.5-x) B2O3 : x ZnO glass samples has been carried out. The results have been explained by dividing the temperature range into two regions. In region - I, there is a linear increase in conductivity with temperature for all the samples. The conductivity decreases with addition of ZnO. In region - II, it is observed that for all the samples, the conductivity suddenly increases, exhibits a plateau for certain temperature range and then decreases with further increase in temperature. The increase in conductivity has been attributed to nucleation and the subsequent decrease in conductivity to the crystallization of the glass samples.
